Circle to Search is simple to use. You draw a circle around something on your phone screen and press a button.

Then, you receive many Google search results about the item you circled. It’s similar to Google Lens, but instead of identifying real-world objects, it searches for things on your screen.

In the future, it could also help with quickly copying and sharing screenshots.

Circle to Search is set to receive an exciting update that will allow you to capture and share specific parts of your screen, based on reports from AssembleDebug (sourced from PiunikaWeb).

Currently, Circle to Search lets you perform various actions like circling, scribbling, highlighting, or tapping on items on your screen. By pressing and holding your finger at the bottom-center of the screen, a new visual search interface appears, providing details about the selected area.

However, new features discovered by AssembleDebug will introduce a few more useful functions to this tool.

The screenshots provided (and a video clip available through the link) show that when you select “Copy image,” it captures the chosen section as a screenshot.

Additionally, an image editor is available to add annotations or make changes as you like. After editing, you can copy the final image and share it on your preferred apps.

Partial screenshots are not a new concept for Android users. Several Chinese companies, including Infinix and Tecno, have introduced this feature in their latest devices, like the Infinix Note 40 series and the Tecno Camon 30 series. To use it, you simply hold down on the screen with three fingers until a resizable snipping tool appears.

The “Share image” feature eliminates a step. Rather than copying the selected area and then opening another app to share it, you can simply tap “Share image” and immediately send it to your friends.

According to AssembleDebug, Circle to Search may also receive some design updates. Currently, selected items appear within rounded brackets. The new design appears more square and simpler, which might indicate it’s still being worked on.

What we think?

I think Circle to Search will get even better with the new update. Being able to take a screenshot of just part of my screen sounds really useful.

I can edit it right away and share it easily without extra steps. The simpler design should make it easier to use. This update will make sharing things from my phone much faster and more convenient.
