    The Rise Of Mobile Gaming

    The Rise Of Mobile Gaming

Before we discuss the current and future opportunities of mobile gaming, it’s essential to know when this relatively new industry came to light. The history of mobile gaming began in the 1990s when mobile phone manufacturers introduced the simplest of games, including the infamous Snake and, of course, Tetris. At that time, there wasn’t much one could do on a mobile phone. With the rise of the iPhone and Blackberry, smartphones began to play a more substantial role in our daily lives. Nowadays, it’s not much of a surprise that you can do many different things on a smartphone, like accessing Google services, unibet, or playing a variety of games.

As of 2023, it is estimated that some 6.92 billion people own smartphones. That being said, it’s completely logical that modern mobile games have cutting-edge graphics and complex gameplay, making them more attractive to gamers than ever.

Mobile gaming is the fastest-growing market segment in gaming. It’s estimated that the global gaming market will surpass £180 billion in revenue in 2023, and it’s most likely that the mobile gaming segment will make up more than 50% share. So, what are the advantages of mobile gaming compared to PC or consoles?

Firstly, mobile technology is improving every year at an impressive pace. The top smartphone manufacturers, such as Samsung or Apple, give major upgrades to their products year after year. Some of the manufacturers specialise in gaming smartphones rather than regular ones, offering all the necessary features to provide an extraordinary gaming experience. Bigger screens, improved graphics and features for heat protection are great advantages for mobile gamers.

Moreover, mobile gamers can play their favourite games on the go. Being able to play anywhere and anytime is more convenient for many gamers than gaming on a PC.

There’s no denying that PC and console gaming have their advantages; after all, PC gaming has been the traditional way for decades. PC and console gaming provides a bigger screen alongside a stronger processor. For more traditional gamers, these are the decisive advantages. However, the popularity of mobile gaming grows every year.

Will Mobile Gaming Lead The Gaming Industry In 2023?

The mobile gaming segment is growing every year. Keeping in mind that smartphone manufacturers are constantly improving the quality and performance of their products, it’s safe to say that mobile gaming will dominate the gaming industry in 2023.
