While many were excited about ChatGPT-4’s new features, one lesser-known update is its integration with Google Drive and OneDrive.
OpenAI announced on X (formerly Twitter) that this feature is now rolling out to some users. You will soon be able to use files from the cloud with the AI tool.
OpenAI announced on X that cloud integration is starting to roll out. They also mentioned it will be “available to ChatGPT Plus, Team, and Enterprise users over the coming weeks.”
This means you need to be a paying member to access it. You might not see the feature immediately since it’s a gradual rollout.
OpenAI says that ChatGPT’s integration with Google Drive and OneDrive lets it read Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Google Drive files like Sheets faster than before.
We’re rolling out interactive tables and charts along with the ability to add files directly from Google Drive and Microsoft OneDrive into ChatGPT. Available to ChatGPT Plus, Team, and Enterprise users over the coming weeks. https://t.co/Fu2bgMChXt pic.twitter.com/M9AHLx5BKr

OpenAI is also adding a feature to interact with charts through a new expandable view. Charts made by ChatGPT-4o will better suit users’ needs. It currently supports interactive bar, line, pie, and scatter plot charts.
Other chart types will be static. This feature can save a lot of time by generating charts and graphs for you. It will be interesting to see how paid ChatGPT users use these new features to speed up their work.
In a blog post, OpenAI said it will not use data from Google Drive and OneDrive uploaded by ChatGPT Enterprise and Teams users to train AI models. For ChatGPT Plus users, their data is used by default, but they can opt out if they don’t want to contribute.
What we think?
I’m excited about ChatGPT-4’s new integration with Google Drive and OneDrive. This will make my work much easier and faster.
I can access and read files directly from the cloud, like Excel and Google Sheets. The new chart feature will save me a lot of time, too. I can’t wait to see how these updates will improve my workflow and help me get things done more efficiently.
