Users have shared screenshots suggesting TikTok’s new app for photo sharing might be called TikTok Notes. TikTok has verified that they are working on this app.
Recently, TikTok users have received alerts about a new app called TikTok Notes for posting pictures.
The alert informs users about the upcoming launch of “a new app for sharing photos” named TikTok Notes. It also mentions that users’ current photo posts will appear in this new app.

“As part of our continued commitment to innovating the TikTok experience, we’re exploring ways to empower our community to create and share their creativity with photos and text in a dedicated space for those formats,” a TikTok spokesperson told TechCrunch.
Additionally, a website owned by TikTok — photo.tiktok.com (link to internet archive) — displays a temporary image for marketing that says “Opening in TikTok Notes.”
Recently, words and code inside the TikTok APK file — a type of file used to install apps on Android — hinted that TikTok has been planning to introduce a photo-sharing application named TikTok Photos.
But, recent alerts on TikTok indicate that the company might be thinking about a different name for the app.
TikTok and Meta are in intense competition for social media dominance. The app owned by ByteDance is getting ready to release a photo-sharing app, while Meta has introduced a vertical video player on Facebook.
TikTok is trying out new styles, such as videos up to 30 minutes long and posts with only text, similar to what’s found on X and Threads.
What we think?
I think TikTok Notes will be cool for sharing photos. Users can put their pictures there from TikTok, but they can choose not to if they want.
TikTok is still working on it, so it’s not out yet. They’re trying new things, like long videos and text posts, kind of like other social media. It’s interesting because TikTok and Meta are always trying to be the best.
