Twitch’s updated discovery feature enables you to scroll through live broadcasts and video clips.
Twitch revealed in a livestream on Wednesday that after almost a year of trials, its TikTok-like discovery feed will be available to everyone later this month.
This new feature allows users to browse through specific feeds for clips and live streams.
Twitch is introducing a new discovery feed in its mobile app. This feed will first appear as a tab and might become the homepage for some users next month.
Any livestreams and clips that follow Twitch’s content rules can be featured in this feed.
As you browse the live feed, you’ll see live shows from people you follow and also streams suggested by Twitch. If you like a stream, click on the creator’s picture to switch to theater mode and join in on the live interaction.
The clips stream offers a selection of short videos from Twitch livestreams. Twitch shows when a creator is broadcasting live, so you can join in if you wish.
According to product manager Jess Sung in the Patch Notes stream, ads will be shown in the feed, but you can scroll past them. “so they won’t force you to pause your viewing or scrolling experience,” Sung said.
What we think?
I think Twitch’s new discovery feature will make it easier to find cool streams and clips. It’s like TikTok, so you can just scroll and see lots of different videos quickly.
I’m excited to check out streams from people I follow and find new ones suggested by Twitch. It’s also great that ads won’t interrupt too much. I hope it works well and makes watching Twitch even more fun.
