Almost all details about the Google Pixel 8a have been revealed. There are clear images of the phone, its features are widely known, and its launch seems certain. Today, there was another leak about the Pixel 8a that made me feel uneasy.

Today, TechDroider posted two real-life photos of the Pixel 8a on X (previously known as Twitter), showing both the front and back sides.

The phone’s back is black with a matte look that appears attractive. The images clearly display the dual cameras at the back, the Google “G” emblem in the center, and the phone’s curved edges.

However, the photo showing the phone’s front side is causing me concern. If you look at the bottom part of the display, there’s a noticeable thick border. In fact, all around the phone, the borders are quite large.

While large borders aren’t necessarily a deal-breaker, they do make the Pixel 8a look less premium, resembling the appearance of a phone such as the 2024 Moto G Power 5G.

There’s a chance that this might be due to the angle of the photo, and the Pixel 8a’s borders might not actually look that bad. However, from what is visible in this image, it’s not very appealing to me.

The photos don’t show any new details about the Pixel 8a, but there’s hardly anything left to discover. Past leaks have already shared a lot about the device.

It’s anticipated to have a 6.1-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, the Tensor G3 chip by Google, a main camera of 64 megapixels, a 13MP wide-angle camera, a battery of 4,500mAh, and charging at 27 watts.

Google is likely to offer this at the $500 price tag, the same as the Pixel 7a, which seems like a great deal despite the size of the bezels.

What we think?

I think the Google Pixel 8a will be a good phone for the price. It has a big screen and fast chip. The cameras seem nice too.

But, the big borders around the screen might make it look old-fashioned. I hope it’s not as bad as the photos show. For $500, it still sounds like a good deal if you don’t mind the borders.
