A new update to the WhatsApp beta for Android (version 2.24.11.13) suggests a feature that might change how users handle unread messages.

WABetaInfo, a trusted source for WhatsApp updates, reports that WhatsApp is working on a feature that will reset the unread message count every time the app is opened.

Whatsapp new feature

This feature could be a big help for users who get too many messages, especially in busy group chats. Right now, the unread message count can be a reminder of unread conversations, which can cause anxiety.

But by resetting the counter automatically, WhatsApp can give users a fresh start each time they open the app. This allows them to focus on new and important messages.

Though the feature is still being developed, it looks like WhatsApp is focusing on better notification management options.

This comes after they announced a feature to manage reaction notifications for status updates, giving users more control over their notification settings.

This feature is still being tested and might not be available to all users right away. WhatsApp has not officially announced a release date yet, but it is expected to come in a future update.

WhatsApp Trials New Feature

WhatsApp’s recent changes and updates, including its new look, show a strong effort to enhance the user experience.

The app is providing more options for customization and control. It addresses common issues like notification overload, device synchronization, and channel discovery. This helps create a smoother and more enjoyable messaging experience for users.

What we think?

I think this new WhatsApp feature to reset unread messages will be really helpful. I often get too many messages, especially in group chats.

It can be stressful seeing a high unread count. With this update, I will feel less anxious because the count resets every time I open the app. It will help me focus on new messages. Overall, it will make using WhatsApp less stressful and more enjoyable.
